2000 suspended Immigration personnel protest in Abuja

2000 suspended Immigration personnel are presently protesting their suspension at the Ministry of Interior, Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the suspension of their recruitment process after assuming office last year.
As at the time of their suspension, they were almost through with their training exercise and were awaiting deployment.

The 2000 personnel were employed through a credible process following the tragedy that marred the 2014 recruitment exercise where many candidates died and many more sustained injuries.
Following their petition to the National Assembly, the House of Representative had in April ordered
their immediate re-employment but almost two months afterwards, no response from the ministry yet, hence today's protest.
